As a lay practitioner of grief, this was a really interesting read. It's hard in a world of memes to find words that resonate deeply, and that excerpt from Shunryu Suzuki was captivating. I'll definitely be seeking that out to dive more deeply in to. A lovely (and timely) return to form Meg. Thanks.

Thank you Darryl. I know your family has had more than it's share of grief over the last few years (my condolences on your Father-in-Law). You can find the whole Suzuki piece here: https://thedewdrop.org/2020/08/10/shunryu-suzukis-waterfall-on-separation-and-death/

A lovely and timely piece, Megan. All of your words are beautiful, and I felt especially captivated by your description of the whales while on the ferry. I have not yet had the fortune to witness something like that up close and I thank you for your detail. I loved thinking about the peaceful coming together of everyone--from the whales to the crew to the passengers on the ferry--during this brief moment in time. A calming visual.
